4 squares of unsweetened chocolate
2 sticks butter (1/2 pound)
2 cups sugar
4 medium or large eggs
2 teaspoons real vanilla or vanilla extract
1-½ cups flour
1-½ cups chopped walnuts
Melt the butter and chocolate together in a large saucepan over low heat.
When they are thoroughly mixed remove from heat and add in 2 cups sugar and beat together.
Next add in the eggs and vanilla and continue beating. Then add in the flour and continue beating until thoroughly mixed. Lastly stir in the nuts.
Grease and flour a 9X13 glass baking pan. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Spread the brownie dough evenly into the baking pan and cook about 20 minutes (or until done). Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the brownies, when the toothpick comes out clean the brownies are done. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Cut into squares and serve.
